The Company's first TearLab product measures tear film osmolarity, a quantitative and objective biomarker of ocular physiology.
Conventional tear tests, such as the Schirmer Test and ocular surface staining, are qualitative and subjective tests that lack the requisite sensitivity and specificity to provide accurate indication of ocular physiology in the current clinical setting.
